American Culture

Early immigrants brought European culture to the United States. Soon they spread the country. Today America has become one of the mainstream of world culture. Many American artists have contributed greatly to developing new styles, new self-expression, and even new cultural patterns. Its main culture is personal value, the pursuit of democratic freedom.

Literature and Art

American Literature (American Literature or Literature of the United States) refers to literature produced in the United States (also including literary works from pre-colonial times). American literature written in English can be regarded as part of English literature. The history of American literature is not long, it appears almost at the same time with American free capitalism, less bound by the feudal aristocratic culture. The early US was sparsely populated with large undeveloped land, providing great possibilities for the realization of personal ideals. The American people are rich in the spirit of democracy and freedom, and the concept of individualism and personality liberation is relatively strong, which is prominently reflected in literature. The United States is a multi-nation country, the continuous influx of immigrants, each bring the culture of its own nation, which determines the diversity and complexity of American literary styles. The process of developing American literature is the process of constantly absorbing and melting the literary characteristics of various ethnic groups.

The 9th century, a special period in American history, was a period of social transformation in American history. Before the 19th century, the United States belonged to the agricultural country, after which the rapid development of industrialization began. In the nineteenth century, America maintained a sudden dualism of equality and difference, freedom and slaves, good and bad, rich and poor. This neurotic separation attitude, originally manifested as apartheid, due to the substantial, cultural, historical, not just geographical division between the north and south, related much to the historical events of the colonial era.

The United States became a mainstream ideological trend. The study of law, politics, education, society, religion and art had great influential. pragmatism believes that contemporary philosophy is divided into two main differences, a rationalist, idealistic, flexible and emotional, rational, optimistic, religious and belief in freedom of will; the other is an empiricist, materialist, rigid, sensory, pessimistic, unreligious and belief in causality. pragmatism is to find a middle path between the two, which is "the appropriate mediator of the comparison of empirical ideas and mankind with religious needs."

Development status of the American soybean industry:

In recent years, soybean as an agricultural product has become the focus of public opinion. Everyone is talking about what Chinese soybean is less and how to do more American soybean. How much soybeans are America grown, produced, consumed, exported, and put in stock? Today. Soybean first originated in China and is an important food crop, vegetable protein and oil source for ancient Chinese people. Before 1995, China was also a major soybean producer and net exporter, with an annual output of about 10 million tons. In addition to meeting domestic consumer demand, it was also exported to Japan and South Korea

The Sustainable Road to American Soybean

The U. S. soybean industry has always regarded the concept of "sustainable" as a top priority, and promotes sustainable planting and production through various strategies and approaches, responding to the growing global demand for safe and sustainable products, and striving to ensure the reliable supply of high-quality and sustainable production of soybeans.

As early as April 1935, the United States passed the Soil Protection Act, laying the foundation for the sustainable development of the American soybean industry, and evolved into a system based on this Act and laws and regulations concerning sustainable development.

For decades, American soybean farmers have also practiced sustainable farming, covering crops, no-tillage, strip sowing, field terraces, grass waterways and buffer zones to reduce farm water and energy consumption and prevent soil erosion, to achieve the unity of ecological, economic and social benefits. The American soybean industry is ready for growing food demand around the world.

Soybean imports cannot replace Chinese buyers for purchasing 850,000 tons of American soybeans a week

In the week ending June 4,2020, Chinese buyers purchased 854,000 tons of US soybeans, up from 465,000 tons of —— last week, also setting a weekly procurement record for nearly 16 months, according to the latest Department of Agriculture.

More data show that as of June 4,2020,2019 / 20 (beginning September 10) US soybean exports to China (mainland) shipped 13.731,000 tons, up from 7.288,000 tons in the same period last year.

Statement on the Responsibilities of the Consulate General of the Consulate General in Houston of the Chinese Embassy in the United States

2020/07/24

On July 21, the US side unilaterally demanded that China close the Consulate General in Houston within a limited time limit, which seriously violated international law and basic norms for international relations and the relevant provisions of the China-US Consular Treaty and deliberately damaged China-US relations. China strongly condemns and firmly opposes it, and urged the US side to revoke the relevant wrong decision as soon as possible.

The Chinese Embassy and Consulate in the United States is always committed to promoting the healthy and steady development of China-US relations and enhancing exchanges and cooperation and friendship between the two peoples. The move seriously damages the normal exchanges and cooperation between South American states and China and the right to obtain consular services from the Chinese government, which is completely unpopular.

Considering the desire and needs of the southern states of the United States to continue their exchanges and cooperation with China, in order to solve the practical difficulties caused by the unreasonable behavior of the US and China, the Chinese Embassy in the United States will temporarily manage the original work of the Consulate General in Houston, as always, to provide various services for people from all walks of life in the territory.

For consular assistance, please timely contact our museum promptly or report to the consular protection and service emergency hotline of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
